What is a Blind Spot Monitor?

Most new cars have various sensors and cameras to help with additional driver assistance and safety features. After 2015, newer vehicles were required to have rearview cameras. These cameras were able to show a live view of the back of a vehicle, that was helpful with parking and backing up. The cameras are now equipped in other areas of the vehicle to help with lane departure assist and blind spot monitoring.

With blind spot monitoring, you can prevent your car from running into other motorists. You can use the camera view on the LED display to see the alert and picture of your vehicle as you look to change lanes or when a vehicle gets too close to your blind spot.

Blind spot monitoring comes standard on some vehicles, but it can also be part of a larger safety package. Want to see what you can get for your budget? Try visiting Pitre Kia of Las Cruces.
